MARCH 28, 2017 WELLSPRING

THE HEART OF THE MATTER

We talk a lot about our campus and facilities here at Heartland Center. While they are essential for a fun and enjoyable experience, it is the program content which enables the outcome we are looking for:  people renewed, enriched, energized and more grounded in their faith.  It is through the programming that participants of all ages are engaged in spiritual growth, mental development and physical recreation that is transformative.

This year the program theme, I Am, is based on 1 Peter 2:9, "But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God's own people, in order that you may proclaim the mighty acts of him who called you."
Each day of camp, there will be a focus on a particular theme:
I Am Created for a Reason
                           I Am Loved by God
I Am In Need of a Savior
                           We Are Given a Purpose
                           We Are On a Mission.

Throughout the week,  the theme is developed in Bible study, in afternoon worship and vespers,as well as in day camp crafts and activities. The quality of the Christ-centered camping experience comes through reliance on the Spirit working through scripture to bring God nearer to each participant, especially camper,s but also counselors and staff..

IT'S TLC TIME!

Spring is here and we are very excited! The grass and trees are turning green as we plan our annual Tender Lovin' Care day. Mark April 29 on your calendars now. This year we will be doing all of the usual preparation for the camping season, including clearing trails, removing brush, splitting firewood, grooming the grounds, setting up equipment and supplies and making repairs where needed.

The event is scheduled from 9am to 1:30pm with doughnuts, coffee and a lunch provided. This is a great time for volunteers to contribute to Heartland Presbyterian Camp. Youth groups and Scouts are welcome to join us.  See you soon!
